Madly Eyeing Moons
Got this link from The Leaky Cauldron. Purportedly it’s about one scene in the new Harry Potter book, but mainly it’s a chance to read some really cool facts about the moons of Jupiter.
“Some scientists think the ice on Europa hides the biggest ocean in the solar system—bigger than the Pacific, Atlantic and Indian oceans combined. Could there be life in the waters of Europa? Microbes?”
Or “At any given moment, dozens of [Io’s volcanoes] might be active, spewing the hottest lava in the solar system. The plumes rise 300 miles into space where it’s so cold that volcanic ash freezes before it falls back to the ground—sulfurous snow.”
Now that’s magical.

RIAA’d Pt 2
Speaking of the evils of file sharing, here are a few MP3s up for grabs. A long while back I offered some MP3s I created for the guys at Super Evil Industries. I wrote another one last night and then whipped off a fourth one this morning [and then another one in the evening!]. Here are links for the whole set.
RIAA’d
That’s strange. I just got en e-mail from Cary Sherman, President of the RIAA, saying my whistling of songs from Chicago in the shower this morning constitutes an unlawful performance, and I will subject to a fine. [9:48 AM]
Update: Hmm…it happened again. Now the RIAA is saying that, on my way to work, I did not roll up my windows and plug my ears when I pulled up alongside a car blasting out Eminem tracks. This makes me guilty of stealing his guy’s music because I heard it without paying for it.
Personally I think they’re carrying this a little too far. [12:57 PM]
Update: Now they’ve sent me word I should stop paraphrasing their e-mails in my blog entries.
