My nephew Joe got his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine on Tuesday.  Here are some videos I shot, the first one is the “hood ceremony” from Sunday, at Chene Park (and coinciding with the air show on the Detroit River); and the second one is the commencement itself, at Fox Theatre in Detroit.

I seem to like these clips, where a bit of profanity slips by the network censors.  I guess it illustrates how harmless it is when they actually hit the airways, how pointless it is to try and camouflage them.  Also, it’s funny to hear the E! censor try to bleep the word and fail so badly.

We left for Chicago yesterday morning and returned this afternoon, for another pilgrimage to see U2.  It was a great show as always, but I’m still of a mind that their best tours are the stripped down ones, like the Elevation tour, rather than this current one, which, like Pop Mart, threatens to dwarf or diminish the band with its huge, distracting, yet admittedly impressive stage.
